Description
“The venue chosen for the Utopian Studies Society’s conference in 2013 has a special significance. It was in 1813, while Robert Owen was managing the cotton-mill village of New Lanark, that this successful industrialist and utopian published A New View of Society. [...] We particularly welcome proposals on Owenites and Owenism, Co-operative and Utopian Communities, Architecture and Design, Ecology and Environment and the history and theory of these and related themes. Round Tables and Panels will include: Owenism and Utopianism; Architecture and Utopia; Co-operative & Utopian Communities; Utopia and The Garden.” (USS)
